about

ter taking a brief hiatus to work with other labels on some projects, Hijacked Records Detroit returns with a 3 track ep that will rock your dance floors in time for festival season. Antwon Faulkner delivers 3 next level funky tracks, all with distinctive grooves in his signature style. The ep opens with the title track, “The Vision.” Next you’ll move to “The Evolution,” and closing with a massive track on a few levels, “The Dream.”

“The Vision” kicks off right away. Upbeat, with warm keys and a synth that almost sounds like menacing horns. The baseline comes in a dark and funky walk. The track is peppered with vocals through a possessed sounding vocoder. The breakdown is at 3 minutes 43 seconds. We guarantee you will have the dance floor’s full attention when the track kicks back into full swing at 4 minutes 27 seconds. This is a killer track!

“The Evolution” has a more latin influenced percussive pattern. Adding highs at just under the minute mark under airy synths that puncture the rhythm in just the right way. Beautiful keys accent throughout to provide a full sounding atmosphere. This track is made for those with hips, who like to shake it.

The ep closes with “The Dream.” And we really couldn’t end it any other way. A high energy and hard beat with an iconic vocal sample that is untouchable. The power behind this track is palpable, fitting for the message it carries. This track is unapologetic and direct. Play this when you really want to show your audience what’s up.
